Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal data we collect when you buy the book, why we collect it, and what rights you have. It is written to align with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Dr Elham Ali Akbari. For any question about your data, or to make any of the requests in section 7, write to dr.elham@outlook.com.

2. What we collect

• Order details — your name, email address, mobile number, delivery address, and what you ordered.
• Correspondence — anything you send us by email, including bulk-order enquiries and refund requests.
• Payment confirmation — the fact that a payment succeeded, its amount and reference. We never see or store your full card number. Card details are handled entirely by our payment provider.

This website does not run advertising trackers or analytics cookies. Fonts and stylesheets are loaded from Google's content delivery network, which receives your IP address as a technical necessity of serving those files.

3. Why we use it

• To take payment, fulfil your order and deliver the book — this is necessary to perform our contract with you.
• To answer your questions and handle returns, replacements and refunds.
• To keep accounting and tax records, which UAE law requires us to retain.

We do not send marketing email and we do not operate a mailing list.

4. Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary, and only with parties who process it on our behalf:

• Our payment provider — to take and, where needed, refund payment.
• Our courier — your name, address and mobile number, so the parcel can be delivered.
• Our accountant or tax adviser — where records are needed for filing.
• Authorities — where we are legally required to disclose.

We do not sell your data, rent it, or pass it to anyone for their own marketing.

5. Where your data is held

Order records are held in the UAE. Some providers may process data on servers outside the UAE. Where that happens, we rely on providers who offer appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

6. How long we keep it

Order and payment records are kept for the period required by UAE tax and commercial law, currently five years from the end of the relevant financial year. General correspondence that carries no legal obligation is deleted once the matter is closed.

7. Your rights

You may ask us to:

• Tell you what data we hold about you, and give you a copy.
• Correct anything inaccurate.
• Delete your data, where we are not legally required to keep it.
• Restrict or object to a particular use.
• Transfer your data to another provider in a portable format.

Write to dr.elham@outlook.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the UAE Data Office.

8. Security

Access to order records is restricted to those who need it to fulfil orders or keep accounts. Payment data is handled by our payment provider under its own security standards. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold.

9. Children

This book is a professional clinical text and the website is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

10. Changes

If this notice changes, the updated version will appear here with a new date.
